ČT 2 is Czech television network owned by Česká Televize. The channel broadcasts news, entertainment, movies, series, culture, sports and documentaries programmings.

History[]

ČT 2 was launched on 10th May 1970 as ČST 2. Launch of the broadcast for news, entertainment and documentaries.

On 9th May 1973, ČST 2 was broadcasted in full color programmings.

On 30th November 1979, ČST 2 was completed complex on Kavčí hory, including the so-called Aktuality.

On 2nd June 1981, ČST 2 begins to use the first cassette systems, in this 3/4" U-matic case.

On 1st April 1984, ČST 2 was purchased the 1/2" Betacam SP.

On 3rd September 1990, ČST 2 is renamed as F1 following dissolution of Czech and Slovak Federative Republic.

On 1st January 1993, F1 is renamed as ČT 2 following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia.

On 4th February 1994, ČT 2 was rebranded and the new logo and idents were changed.

On 16th March 1997, ČT 2 was rebranded and the new logo and idents were changed along with ČT 1.

On 15th May 2005, ČT 2 switched to 16:9 image format.

On 21st August 2007, ČT 2 was rebranded and the new logo and idents were changed along with this channels.

On 1st October 2009, ČT 2 was extended to 16:9 image format during programmings, idents, commercials and continuities.

On 30th September 2012, ČT 2 was rebranded and the new logo and idents were changed as part of Česká Televize's rebranding effort.

On 1st May 2013, ČT 2 stopped its 4:3 image format then became a full 16:9 image format and was launched in high-definition version.

On 3rd December 2015, ČT 2 was rebranded and the new idents were changed.
