ČT Sport is Czech public television network owned by Česká Televize. The channel broadcasts sports events (football, basketball, hockey, athletics, the Olympic Games and motorsports) programmings.
History[]
It was launched on February 10, 2006 and broadcasts sports events. The first major project was the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, which also broadcast on ČT 2. It broadcasts the most important sporting events that are most watched in the Czech Republic. Whether it's the Olympic Games (winter and summer), but also various world championships (hockey, football and many others).
The channel is available on terrestrial networks of public multiplex 1 and multiplex 2, cable networks or satellite television. Specifically, it can be tuned to an orbital position 23.5 ° east on Skylink, then to an orbital position 1 ° west on Digi and Freesat. ČT Sport broadcasts on a satellite, unlike ČT 24, only encrypted.
On October 2008, the station was renamed ČT 4, from 1 October 2012 to ČT Sport. On the occasion of IIHF World Championships 2012, ČT Sport was launched in high-defintion simulcast.
