ABS-CBN is a Filipino general television network owned by ABS-CBN Corporation.
History
ABS-CBN was launched in 23rd October 1953 as Alto Broadcasting System Television originally owned by Quirino family.
On 24th February 1957, Alto Broadcasting System Television was acquired by Lopez family.
On 1961, Alto Broadcasting System Television was merged with Chronicle Broadcasting Network Television to became ABS-CBN Television.
On 1967, ABS-CBN Television was renamed as ABS-CBN.
On 21st September 1972, ABS-CBN was closed due to Material Law and replaced by the Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation.
On 14th September 1986, ABS-CBN was relaunched after Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation was closed.
On 5th May 2020, ABS-CBN was closed due to a cease and desist order by the NTC.
