Action is French entertainment television network owned by Mediawan Thematics. The channel broadcasts series and movies related to action, thriller and suspense programmings.
History
Thematic channel dedicated to films (movie and television) action genre as well as cinema bis, it is marketed parallel to the movie offer of AB Sat bouquet since May 2, 1996. In its programming, we also find wrestling with broadcasting NXT (which replaces the ECW already broadcast by the channel) on Saturday evening in the second half of the evening. Since its creation, and like the channel Ciné Polar edited by the same group, Action is one of the few French film channels to maintain their logo embedded in the image during the broadcast of the feature films.
It is also the name of a channel of Starz Encore Group.
On May 13, 2014, the channel goes in high definition on Canalsat bouquet. The channel is no longer broadcast, in standard definition, from this date on Astra 19.2°E.
