Canal+ Sport is French sports television network owned by Groupe Canal+. The channel broadcasts sports programmings.

History[]

Canal+ Vert was created on 31 August 1998 on CanalSatellite and cable as a multicast program of Canal+, mainly sports. The channel devotes 22% of its air time to sports and only 37.7% to the cinema, the remaining 40.3% covering programs, documentaries and series boxes or TV movies. Canal+ Vert broadcasts sports events in the early evening, which make up most of the program offer on this time slot.

As part of the creation of the Canal+ Le Bouquet offer, the channel changed its name on November 1, 2003 to be called Canal+ Sport.

On April 20, 2005, Canal+ Sport presented to the CSA its candidacy to obtain a frequency on the pay TNT. Its application having been selected, the CSA allocates to it a frequency on the multiplex R3 of the paying TNT from where it begins to emit as of November 21st, 2005.

Since June 8, 2010, she began broadcasting in High Definition (HD).
