Canale 5 is Italian television network owned by Mediaset. The channel broadcasts news, talk-shows, entertainment, game-shows, series, soap-operas and telenovelas programmings.
History[]
Canale 5 was launched on 24th September 1974 as Telemilano. Launch of the broadcast for news and entertainment.
On 7th September 1978, Telemilano was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 30th September 1980, Telemilano is renamed as Canale 5.
On 11th January 1981, Canale 5 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 23rd September 1985, Canale 5 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 29th May 1989, Canale 5 was rebranded with the new idents were changed.
On 1st March 1994, Canale 5 was rebranded with the new idents were changed.
On 8th April 1996, Canale 5's screenbug was new under "Mediaset" name.
On 23rd May 2001, Canale 5 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 3rd February 2004, Canale 5 was added from the digital terrestrial of Italy.
On 1st November 2009, Canale 5 switched to 16:9 image format.
On 5th December 2012, Canale 5 stopped its 4:3 image format then became a full 16:9 image format and was launched in high-definition version.
On 11th November 2015, Canale 5 was rebranded with the new idents were changed.
On 16th April 2018, Canale 5 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
