Channel 5 is British television network owned by ViacomCBS Networks International United Kingdom. The channel broadcasts news, entertainment, series, movies, lifestyle, sports and children's programmings.

History[]

Channel 5 was launched on 30th March 1997. Launch of the broadcast for news, entertainment, series and sports.

On 27th December 2001, Channel 5 switched to 16:9 image format.

On 16th September 2002, Channel 5 is renamed as Five.

On 26th August 2005, Five was acquired by RTL Group.

On 6th October 2008, Five was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed created by DixonBaxi.

On 13th July 2010, Five stopped its 4:3 image format then became a full 16:9 image format and was launched in high-definition version.

On 14th February 2011, Five is renamed back as Channel 5.

On 1st May 2014, Channel 5 and this channels were acquired by Viacom International Media Networks United Kingdom.

On 11th February 2016, Channel 5 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.

On 1st March 2020, Channel 5 was rebranded with the new idents were changed.
