Ciné+ Émotion is French television network owned by MultiThématiques. The channel broadcasts movies related to drama, romance and comedy.
History[]
Ciné+ Émotion was launched on 27th April 1996 as CinéCinémas Prime. Launch of the broadcast for movies.
On 1st September 1998, CinéCinémas Prime is renamed as CinéCinémas 2 along with CinéCinemas 1 and CinéCinémas 3.
On 15th September 2002, CinéCinémas 2 is renamed as CinéCinéma Émotion and switched to 16:9 image format.
On 21st March 2007, CinéCinéma Émotion was merged with TPS Cinécomedy following Canalsat/TPS merger.
On 1st October 2008, CinéCinéma Émotion was rebranded and the new logo was changed along with CinéCinéma's channels.
On 17th May 2011, CinéCinéma Émotion is renamed as Ciné+ Émotion as part of MultiThématiques' rebranding effort.
On 2012, Ciné+ Émotion stopped its 4:3 image format then became a full 16:9 image format and was launched in high-definition version.
