Ciné+ Premier is French television network owned by MultiThématiques. The channel broadcasts recent and new movies.

History[]

Ciné+ Premier was launched on 30th September 1988 as CinéCinémas. Launch of the broadcast for movies.

On 27th April 1996, CinéCinémas was rebranded following two channels' launch.

On 1st September 1998, CinéCinémas is renamed as CinéCinémas 1.

On 15th September 2002, CinéCinémas 1 is renamed as CinéCinéma Premier and switched to 16:9 image format.

On 2007, CinéCinéma Premier stopped its 4:3 image format then became a full 16:9 image format and was launched in high-definition version.

On 1st October 2008, CinéCinéma Premier was rebranded and the new logo was changed along with CinéCinéma's channels.

On 17th May 2011, CinéCinéma Premier is renamed as Ciné+ Premier as part of MultiThématiques' rebranding effort.

On 2012, Ciné+ à la Demande was launched along with En+ these two on-demand services.

On since 2016, the three Ciné+ channels (Ciné+ Premier, Ciné+ Frisson and Ciné+ Classic) are available in Belgium.

On 2018, Ciné+ à la Demande launches six exclusively channels.
