Ciné+ Star is French former movie television network owned by MultiThématiques. The channel broadcasts movies from Hollywood and award contests.
History[]
Cinéstar 1 was launched by TPS on 12 January 1997. Launch of the broadcast for movies and was broadcast from 6:00 to midnight.
When the TPS Premium package was created on 1 September 2003, Cinéstar 1 becomes TPS Cinéstar.
On March 21, 2007, following the merger of the TPS and Canalsat bouquets, TPS Cinéstar was renamed CinéCinéma Star.
On May 17, 2011, the bouquet changed its name to add a link with the channel "mother" of Groupe Canal+ so CinéCinéma Star becomes Ciné+ Star.
Ciné+ Star ceased broadcasting on 30 August 2013 in France.
However, it is still broadcast in Africa and is part of Groupe Canal+'s EasyTV pay-per-view package in Africa.
