Ciné FX is French former movie television network owned by AB Groupe. The channel broadcasts movies related to science-fiction, fantasy and horror.

History[]

Originally in 1996, AB Groupe's movie package included five channels but not were devoted to science fiction films.

During the redesign of the film offer on September 15, 2002 by Laurent Zameczkowski, the bouquet was called Cinébox and included in addition Ciné FX, having been created by him and Pascal Goubereau.

Today, the cinema bouquet is called Cinérama by some distributors and includes this channel as well as Action and Ciné Polar (and previously Cinéfirst and Cinépop until their diffusion stop).

On May 13, 2014, the channel goes in high definition on Canalsat bouquet. The channel is no longer broadcast, in standard definition, from this date on Astra 19.2° E.

Canalsat announces the withdrawal of the channel from its ADSL and satellite offers on July 1, 2015.

On November 20, 2015, the channel is withdrawn from the offer of Orange.

On December 6, 2016, Ciné FX and Polar are replaced by Paramount Channel and Crime District in Bis TV's Cinérama offer.

Polar and Ciné FX stop on April 30, 2018, in the bouquets SFR, Orange, Bouygues and Bis TV. They continue on Free until July 31, 2018.

The channel Ciné FX will become Action Max, a service on demand from August 1, 2018. It remains broadcast on the Freebox until July 31, 2018.

Programmings[]

The program includes sci-fi movies, as well as fantasy, horror and horror movies from the 1950s to the present day with no sub-genre.
