Cinébox is French movie television network owned by AB Groupe. The channel broadcasts movies related to all genres.

History[]

In 1996, AB Groupe launched a cinema bouquet consisting of 5 channels: ActionPolarRireRomance and Ciné Palace.

In September 2002, AB Groupe set up a new cinema bouquet, which was named Cinébox. It consisted of 4 channels: CinécomicCinépolarCiné FX and Cinébox which replaced Ciné Palace.

Finally, in September 2002, the new cinema bouquet was born and named Cinébox. It consisted of 4 channels: CinécomicCinépolarCiné FX and Cinébox. The last one is the portal channel of the movie bouquet. Following the redesign of the movie channels of CanalSatellite, named CinéCinémaCinéart and Cinépassion were not be retained, judged too close to CinéCinéma Auteur and CinéCinéma Émotion.

Cinébox was canceled on August 24, 2004 at the same time as Cinécomic to release the transponder rented by AB Groupe to welcome Télé Monte Carlo, which was recently bought from Pathé on AB Sat bouquet.
