Cinépop is French former movie television network owned by AB Groupe. The channel broadcasts movies related to comedy, homour, children's and animation.

History[]

In 1996, AB Groupe launched a bouquet of 5 movie channels: Action, Ciné Palace, Polar, Romance and Rire. The latter is centered on comedy movies.

When the group redesigned the movie channels in 2002, the bouquet was named Cinébox and the channel became Cinécomic. It keeps the same orientation in its programs, that is to say the comedy movies. However, it will be abolished in August 2004 at the same time as the movie showcase channel, Cinébox.

In 2007, 3 years after the end of Cinécomic, AB Groupe decided to rethink the experience by creating a similar channel centered on family movies. Originally named Ciné Popcorn then Cinéfunilly, she will eventually become Cinépop.

After 10 months of broadcasting, it will be brutally suppressed to make room for new channels promised by AB Groupe.
