Filmcafe is Romanian television network owned by AMC Networks International Romania. The channel broadcasts movies related to action, drama, comedy and fantasy.
History[]
Filmcafe was launched on 1st September 2000 as Romantica. Launch of the broadcast for telenovellas and soap-operas.
On 1st July 2002, Romantica was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 26th June 2006, Romantica was renamed as Zone Romantica.
On 1st April 2007, Zone Romantica was both purcashed 50% by Realitatea-Cațavencu and 50% by Zone Media Romania then renamed back as Romantica.
On 8th July 2009, Romantica was fully purchased by Chellomedia Romania.
On 1st December 2012, Romantica was renamed as Film Café.
On 18th May 2015, Film Café was renamed as Filmcafe.
On 12th June 2020, Filmcafe was launched in high-definition version.
On 10th May 2022, Filmcafe was rebranded with the new idents were changed.
