France 3 is French television network owned by France TV. The channel broadcasts news, entertainment, series, movies, documentaries and children's programmings.
History[]
France 3 was launched on 1st January 1973 as Troisième chaîne de l'ORTF. Launch of the broadcast for news, entertainment and culture.
On 6th January 1975, Troisième chaîne de l'ORTF was renamed as FR3.
On 27th June 1977, FR3 was stopped its retransmission in Djibouti.
On 20th September 1978, FR3's news programmings "FR3 Actualités" to "Soir 3".
On 5th May 1981, FR3 was broadcasted its French election.
On 17th September 1982, FR3 was moved its French overseas to the company called Radio-Télévision Française d'Outre-mer.
On 6th May 1986, FR3 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 21st December 1987, FR3 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 22nd December 1990, FR3 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 7th September 1992, FR3 is renamed as France 3.
On 31st March 1993, France 3 was broadcasted its children's programming "Les Minikeums".
On 16th September 1996, France 3 was launched its satellite version under the name France 3 Sat.
On 15th August 1998, France 3 was moved its new headquarter at seventh Esplanade Henri de France.
On 6th September 1999, France 3 was redesigned its news programmings.
On 7th January 2002, France 3 was rebranded with the new logo was changed.
On 8th September 2003, France 3 was rebranded with the new idents was changed after 10 years.
On 25th September 2006, France 3 was redesigned its news programmings.
On 30th October 2007, France 3 was launched in Corsica region via satellite.
On 7th April 2008, France 3 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 15th December 2008, France 3 switched to 16:9 image format.
On 23rd May 2010, France 3 was launched in high-definition version.
On 27th October 2012, France 3 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 1st January 2013, France 3 was celebrated its 40th anniversary.
On 23rd September 2016, France 3 was stopped its transmission via Eutelsat 5 satellite.
On 29th January 2018, France 3 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 31st August 2020, France 3 was broadcasted its French overseas news after France Ô's closure.
On 17th October 2023, France 3 will be renamed as Ici for regional channels.
On 23rd January 2024, France 3 was launched in ultra high-definition version.
On 6th June 2025, France 3 was changed its new screen-bug to corporate logo.
On 26th September 2025, France 3 will broadcasted local ads in Belgium on 1st January 2026.
