Groupe M6 is French media company owned by RTL Group. The company have thirteen television channels, three radio stations, four motion picture companies, two television productions, fourteen website and other activies.
History[]
Groupe M6 was founded by the companies: Compagnie Luxembourgeoise de Télédiffusion and Lyonnaise des Eaux on 1st March 1987 as Métropole Télévision and M6 was launched.
On 8th March 1993, Série Club was launched.
On 6th October 1996, Téva was launched.
On 22nd February 1997, Fun TV was launched from the radio station Fun Radio.
On 1st March 1997, Métropole Télévision is renamed as Groupe M6 and the logo was introduced.
On 5th March 1998, M6 Music was launched.
On 19th May 1998, M6 Boutique was launched as Club Téléachat.
On 18th December 2000, Série Club was becomes the joint-venture with Groupe TF1 and TF6 was launched.
On 6th May 2004, Groupe M6 acquired Paris Première from Lyonnaise des Eaux.
On 31st March 2005, M6 Music was splitted to two channels: W9, the entertainment channel and M6 Music Hits.
On 30th November 2009, Groupe M6 was rebranded and this main channel.
On 31st December 2014, TF6 was closed.
On 1st October 2017, Groupe M6 acquired this French radio stations from RTL Group.
On 1st September 2019, Groupe M6 acquired this channels from Lagardère Active (expect Mezzo).
