Kanal D is Turkish television network owned by Demirören Holding. The channel broadcasts news, entertainment, series, sports, movies and talk-shows programmings.
History[]
Kanal D was launched on 19th December 1993. Launch of the broadcast for news, entertainment, sports, movies, series and music videos, originally owned by Doğuş Yayın Grubu.
On 16th October 1994, Kanal D was acquired by Doğan Holding and was rebranded, the new logo and idents were changed.
On 4th June 1996, Kanal D was rebranded and the new idents were changed.
On 7th March 2001, Kanal D's satellite channel Kanal D Fun is renamed as Euro D.
On 1st October 2006, Kanal D's new high-definition channel D-HDTV was launched.
On 1st September 2008, Kanal D switched to 16:9 image format and was launched in high-definition version replaced D-HDTV.
On 21st April 2011, Kanal D was rebranded and the new logo and idents became high-definition.
On 1st August 2013, Kanal D stopped its 4:3 image format then became a full 16:9 image format.
On 21st March 2018, Kanal D and this channels were acquired by Demirören Holding.
On 3rd September 2018, Kanal D was rebranded and the new logo was changed.
