La 2 is Spanish television network owned by Televisión Española. The channel broadcasts news, entertainment, movies, documentaries and culture programmings.
History[]
La 2 was launched on 15th November 1966 as TVE 2. Launch of the broadcast for news, entertainment and documentaries who transmitted in UHF format.
On 22nd September 1968, TVE 2 was broadcasted its theater programming "Hora Once".
On 26th August 1972, TVE 2 was switched to color programmings.
On 5th February 1975, TVE 2 was broadcasted its movie programming "Revista de cine".
On 5th October 1976, TVE 2 was rebranded with the new idents were created by the New York designer Dolphin Productions.
On 3rd October 1977, TVE 2 was broadcasted its Catalan news programming "Miramar".
On 19th July 1980, TVE 2 was broadcasted its Olympic Games in Moscow.
On 25th December 1981, TVE 2 was rebranded with the new ident was added.
On 1st October 1983, TVE 2 was rebranded with the new logo was redesigned.
On 16th April 1984, TVE 2 was broadcasted its sports programming "Estadio 2".
On 1st April 1985, TVE 2 was broadcasted its cultural programming "Metrópolis".
On 16th May 1988, TVE 2 was launched its teletext service.
On 25th July 1990, TVE 2 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 16th September 1991, TVE 2 was renamed as La 2.
On 7th November 1994, La 2 was broadcasted its own news programming "La 2 Noticias".
On 27th January 1996, La 2 was broadcasted its science programmings "Redes".
On 5th April 1999, La 2 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 7th January 2001, La 2 was now 24 hours for this time.
On 1st April 2003, La 2 was changed its new screen-bug.
On 11th September 2006, La 2 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 31st August 2008, La 2 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 7th January 2010, La 2 was switched to 16:9 image format.
On 1st June 2010, La 2 was changed its new broadcast format for general culture.
On 3rd September 2012, La 2 was rebranded with the new idents were changed.
On 8th September 2015, La 2 was rebranded with the new idents were changed.
On 31st October 2017, La 2 was launched in high-definition version.
On 12th March 2020, La 2 was broadcasted its final edition of "La 2 Noticias".
On 15th February 2021, La 2's regional news programmings was rebranded with the new studios were changed.
On 13th October 2025, La 2 was launched its Catalan-language channel La 2 Cat.
