M2 is Hungarian television network owned by Médiaszolgáltatás-támogató és Vagyonkezelő Alap. The channel broadcasts animated/live-action series, entertainment and knowledge programmings for children.
History[]
M2 was launched on 7th Novembr 1973 as Magyar Televízió 2. Launch of the broadcast for news, entertainment and knowledge.
On the year 1977, Magyar Televízió 2 was already switched to color programmings.
On 3rd September 1979, Magyar Televízió 2 was renamed as MTV 2.
On 5th July 1982, MTV 2's news programming was rearranged.
On 15th July 1986, MTV 2 was broadcasted the song festival "Interpop Fesztivál" also simulcasted on MTV 1.
On 2nd January 1989, MTV 2 was renamed as TV2.
On 1st May 1991, TV2 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 20th July 1994, TV2 was renamed as MTV 2.
On 20th August 1997, MTV 2 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 20th March 2000, MTV 2 was renamed as M2.
On 3rd November 2002, M2 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 25th March 2006, M2 was rebranded with the new idents were changed.
On 1st August 2008, M2 was launched in high-definition version.
On 1st July 2009, M2 was switched to full 16:9 image format.
On 27th July 2012, M2 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 22nd December 2012, M2 was changed to broadcast format for children's programmings at daytime and entertainment programmings at prime-time.
On 15th March 2015, M2 was removed its entertainment programmings but its moved to new channel M2 Petőfi.
On 1st January 2016, M2 was changed its ad agency with Atmedia.
On 1st October 2020, M2 was rebranded with the new idents were changed.
On 1st April 2024, M2 was changed its broadcast hours at 5:00 to 20:00.
