Maison+ is French former lifestyle television network owned by MultiThématiques. The channel broadcasts a variety of how-to shows with a focus on home improvement, gardening, crafts, and remodeling.

History[]

Du côté de chez vous TV is created on October 16, 2006 on the bouquet Canalsat. Its shareholders are then Communication et Programme International which holds 85% and Galfin which owns 15% 2. The name of the channel and the logo is undoubtedly a reference to the micro-broadcast of TF1 Du côté de chez vous.

On January 1, 2009, the channel becomes Télé Maison.

Following several calls for tenders to buy the channel that was experiencing financial difficulties (AB and Télévista were candidates), it is taken over by the Groupe Canal+, which is joined by several channels such as Cuisine.TV and Seasons.

On April 5, 2012, the channel becomes Maison+, in the name of coherence between the names of all the channels of the Groupe Canal+, and changes its packaging and programming, just like Cuisine+.

Starting in September 2012, Maison+'s programming is modeled on that of Cuisine+.

The Groupe Canal+ closed the channel on March 27, 2015, 3 months before 3 other channels of the Groupe Canal+: Cuisine+, Jimmy and Sport+.

Programmings[]

Maison+ broadcasts programs redeemed at France Télévisions, as Côté Maison (France 3) or Question Maison and Silence, ça pousse! (France 5) as well as creations: Les jardins d'AurélieDu côté des pros, Le Magazine de la Maison or Contreplaqué, It also includes broadcast programs:

  • in Belgium (on RTBF) with Une brique dans le ventre or Jardins et loisirs.
  • in Canada with Décore ta vie or Ma maison… signée Manon LeBlanc on Canal Vie, Méchant changement on Vrak, Passion maisons on Historia
  • in the United Kingdom with The Home Show and The City Gardener on Channel 4, How To Be A Property Developer on Channel 5
  • in the United States with Junk Brothers and Pure Design on HGTV

According to Franck Appietto, director of the Groupe Canal+'s entertainment channels, other productions will gradually replace most of Télé Maison's current foreign programs, which are said to be Trop éloignés des valeurs de Canal+
