Mezzo is French television network owned by Canal+ Thématiques and Groupe Les Échos-Le Parisien. The channel broadcasts classical music, jazz and ballet programmings.
History[]
Mezzo was launched on 7th September 1992 as France Supervision. Launch of the broadcast for sports events and documentaries in 16:9 image format.
On 1st June 1995, France Supervision was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 19th July 1996, France Supervision was broadcasted its Summer Olympics.
On 10th May 1997, France Supervision was changed its broadcast format for classical music.
On 21st March 1998, France Supervision was renamed as Mezzo also acquired its shares with La Cinquième and France Télécom.
On 7th December 2001, Mezzo was authorized its merger with Muzzik at the European Commission.
On 2nd April 2002, Mezzo was merged with Muzzik also acquired its shared with Lagardère Active.
On 3rd October 2003, Mezzo was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 31st May 2005, Mezzo was officialy added on Digital+.
On 1st January 2008, Mezzo was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 1st December 2009, Mezzo was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 7th April 2010, Mezzo was launched its high-definition channel under the name Mezzo Live HD.
On 5th October 2011, Mezzo was launched its video on-demand service.
On 22nd September 2014, Mezzo was extended in Mongolia.
On 6th June 2015, Mezzo was organized its classical music festival in Paris under the name "Paris Mezzo".
On 26th October 2016, Mezzo was added on Tivùsat.
On 17th July 2019, Mezzo was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed also acquired by MultiThématiques and the the publishing company Groupe Les Échos-Le Parisien.
On 20th September 2022, Mezzo was extended its partnership with M7 Group.
On 22nd March 2023, Mezzo was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 19th December 2024, Mezzo was replaced by Marquee TV on Vivacom from Bulgaria and EON Sat from Serbia.
On 29th December 2025, Mezzo will be closed in Russia on 1st January 2026.
