NHK General is Japanese television network owned by Nippon Hoso Kyokai. The channel broadcasts news, entertainment, series, sports, music, anime and documentaries programmings.
History[]
NHK General was launched on 1st February 1953 as NHK General Television. Launch of the broadcast for news, entertainment and culture.
On 28th December 1957, NHK General Television was broadcasts in color programmings.
On 17th March 1962, NHK General Television was rebranded and the new logo was changed.
On 10th October 1964, NHK General Television was broadcasts the Summer Olympics from Tokyo.
On 15th March 1969, NHK General Television was starting the UHF broadcasting.
On 1st October 1971, NHK General Television was broadcasts in full color programmings.
On 7th April 1975, NHK General Television was ending the UHF broadcasting.
On 1st November 1985, NHK General Television was starting the teletext service.
On 20th May 1987, NHK General Television was rebranded and the new logo and idents were changed.
On 22nd March 1995, NHK General Television was rebranded and the new logo and idents were changed created by Nippon Hoso Kyokai's rebranding effort.
On 1st April 1997, NHK General Television was now 24 hours for the first time.
On 1st December 2003, NHK General Television was starting the digital television.
On 1st October 2005, NHK General Television is renamed as NHK General along with NHK Educational.
On 5th July 2010, NHK General switched to full 16:9 image format.
On 31st March 2012, NHK General was ending the analogue television.
On 1st March 2020, NHK General was broadcasts programmings from NHK Plus.
On 30th March 2020, NHK General was rebranded and the new logo and idents were changed.
