Nippon Television (stylized as Nittele) is Japanese television network owned by Nippon Television Holdings. The channel broadcasts news, entertainment, series, movies, documentaries, talk-shows, sports and anime programmings.

History[]

Nippon Television was launched on 28th August 1953. Launch of the broadcast for news, entertainment, sports and talk-shows.

On 18th April 1957, Nippon Television was broadcasts in test color programming.

On 28th August 1958, Nippon Television was launch as first new regional channel called "Yomiuri TV".

On 28th March 1959, Nippon Television was broadcasts new information programming called "Nippon Telenews".

On 10th October 1964, Nippon Television was broadcasts the Summer Olympics from Tokyo.

On 1st April 1966, Nippon Television's member station company Nippon News Network was founded.

On 1st October 1971, Nippon Television was broadcasts in full color programmings.

On 15th June 1972, Nippon Television was rebranded and the new logo was changed.

On 25th November 1976, Nippon Television's company was founded.

On 1st January 1978, Nippon Television was rebranded and the new logo was changed.

On 1st December 1982, Nippon Television was starting the TV audio multiplex broadcasting.

On 30th November 1985, Nippon Television was starting the new studio from New York.

On 28th August 1993, Nippon Television was rebranded and the new logo and idents were changed.

On 13th July 1995, Nippon Television switched to 16:9 image format.

On 1st December 2000, Nippon Television's satellite channel BS Nittele was launched.

On 1st July 2003, Nippon Television was rebranded and the new logo and idents were changed.

On 27th October 2005, Nippon Television's video-on-demand service Dai-ni Nippon Television was launched.

On 5th July 2010, Nippon Television stopped its 4:3 image format then became a full 16:9 image format.

On 1st January 2013, Nippon Television was rebranded and the new logo and idents were changed.

On 6th March 2017, Nippon Television was acquired the triple crown for 35 consecutive weeks, a new record for commercial broadcasting.
