Planète+ is French documentary television network owned by MultiThématiques. The channel broadcasts documentaries (nature, explorer and nature).
History[]
Planète Câble was founded on August 1, 1988 by the company MultiThématiques to enrich the nascent cable television offer of a new genre for a thematic channel: documentary. It changes its name to become Planète on September 4, 1999.
Since May 17, 2011, Planète and some of the Groupe Canal+'s thematic channels have taken the Canal+ "+" identity to become Planète+.
On September 14, 2015, the channel is interviewed for a possible passage on free DTT, at the same time as the LCI and Paris Première channels, but on December 17, 2015, the CSA refuses it, in favor of LCI
