History[]
On September 15, 1999, the channel came under the name of Planète 2
In July 2002, MultiThématiques and France Télévisions announced that they had signed an agreement to create a television channel whose theme revolved around that of the Thalassa program, broadcast on France 3 since 1975 (at that time the channel was named FR3 until in 1992). It was born November 1, 2002 under the name Planète Thalassa and replaced Planète 2 at the same time.
Following the wishes of MultiThématiques to get closer to the group's parent channel, Canal+, she becomes at the same time as her sisters on May 17, 2011, Planète+ Thalassa.
The groups France Télévisions and Canal+ announced in early December 2015 that the channel will cease broadcasting on 1 January 2016 at 3:28.
Programmings[]
Planète+ Thalassa offers unpublished documentaries and reformatted versions of reports made by Thalassa and Faut pas Rêverver teams. First channel devoted to the maritime world, it broadcasts daily, from 9:00 to 1:00 am, sixteen hours of programs composed of reports, magazines and documentaries rigorously selected by the joint teams of Thalassa/Faut pas Rêverver and that of Planète.
Led by Georges Pernoud, the journalists who are members of the Thalassa team, but also personalities like Loïck Peyron, the air is characterized by a reinforced presence of magazines and weekly meetings which, throughout the year, are echo the news of the maritime world.
