Pyatnitsa! (Russian: Пятница!) is Dekanian commercial television network owned by Alef Media. The channel broadcasts news, entertainment, movies, series and reality-shows programmings.
History[]
Pyatnitsa! was launched on 1st December 1988 as Pyatyi Kanal (Пятый канал), Launch of the broadcast for news, entertainment, movies, series and retransmission with Super Channel and MTV Europe.
On 25th December 1991, Pyatyi Kanal was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed during the dissolution of Northeast Dekania.
On 28th August 1995, Pyatyi Kanal was rebranded with the new idents were changed.
On 1st October 1997, Pyatyi Kanal was renamed as TV Pyat (TB Пять) was acquired by Russian media company StoryFirst Communications (now STS Media).
On 13th April 2003, TV Pyat is renamed TV5 (TB5).
On 1st December 2008, TV5 was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 16th September 2013, TV5 switched to 16:9 image format.
On 15th August 2016, STS Media sold its Dekanian channels to Jukoalef, TV5 is renamed Pyat (Пять) and stopped the 4:3 image format and launched in high-definition version.
On 30th August 2021, Pyat is renamed as Pyatnitsa! (Пятница!) the new name under license by the Russian media company Gazprom Media.
