RTL 5 is Dutch television network owned by RTL Nederland. The channel broadcasts news, entertainment, lifestyle, game-shows, movies and series programmings.
History[]
RTL 5 was launched on 2nd October 1993 as RTL V. Launch of the broadcast for news, entertainment and series.
On 15th December 1994, RTL V is renamed as RTL 5.
On 3rd August 1997, RTL 5 was the new broadcast format for factual entertainment and the rest of entertainment and movies.
On 28th July 1998, RTL 5 was rebranded and the new logo and idents were changed.
On 1st September 1999, RTL 5 was rebranded and the new logo and idents were changed.
On 13th August 2005, RTL 5 was rebranded and the new logo and idents were changed along with this channels.
On 1st March 2007, RTL 5 switched to 16:9 image format.
On 30th November 2009, RTL 5 stopped its 4:3 image format then became a full 16:9 image format and was launched in high-definition version.
On 27th August 2012, RTL 5 was rebranded and the new logo and idents were changed.
On 30th August 2017, RTL 5 was rebranded and the new logo and idents were changed.
On 1st May 2023, RTL 5 was rebranded and the new logo and idents were changed.
