RTL Crime is Dutch entertainment television network owned by RTL Nederland. The channel broadcasts action, thriller, crime series and documentaries programmings.
History[]
The channel was launched at Ziggo on 1 July 2008. Later, the channel was also found in the digital package of Caiway and fiber optic provider Tweak on Glashart fiber network in Almere.
Misdaadnet broadcasted, among other things, Dutch television series, including Baantjer, Spangen, Blauw Blauw and Grijpstra & De Gier. Foreign series include Der Alte, Taggart, Rebus, Crimini and Murphy's Law.
In 2009, the channel, with almost ten percent of all votes, was voted the best digital television channel in 2009.
Misdaadnet has definitively stopped broadcasting on 1 September 2011.
The channel exists since September 1, 2011. The channel RTL Crime is mainly intended for the detective and crime viewers of all ages from 16 years. In Germany there is a similar channel since November 27, 2006. The channel is very similar to MisdaadNet that stopped broadcasting on 1 September 2011.
RTL Crime is officially, like the rest of RTL Nederland family, a Luxembourg channel that does not have to comply with the Dutch media law. Since Luxembourg does not have a real supervisor, the channel is also not monitored.
Programmings[]
RTL Crime broadcast series and documentaries dealing with crime, such as the old series Baantjer, Bones, CSI: NY, Blauw Blauw, Prison Break, Van Speijk, and the American hit series 24. Nowadays series of the Nederlandse Publieke Omroepbestel are broadcast on RTL Crime.
