RTL Passion

RTL Passion is German entertainment television network owned by Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland. The channel broadcasts soap operas, telenovelas and television dramas programmings.

History[]

The transmitter started on 27 November 2006. Because of the participation of other partners also on RTL addition was waived, as it is well-known from the likewise pay-liable transmitters RTL Living and RTL Crime ago. The program is increasingly aimed at female audiences and shows telenovelas, romantic television series and soap operas.

The program is currently being organized on the basis of RTL World bouquets license granted by Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland.

The program is marketed for a fee in the digital offer of German cable network operators, as well as via IPTV. Since 1 January 2008, Passion is also subscribable via the pay-TV channel Sky as part of the program package Sky World.

From November 13, 2012, Unitymedia Kabel BW will also be broadcasting the HD variant Passion HD. In contrast to the other HD channels of the RTL Group, this station is not distributed with the HD+ known recording and Vorspulsperren.

On January 16, 2013, Passion introduced new logos and a new on-air and off-air design for its transmitters.

By the end of December 2014, UFA owned 49.6 percent of the broadcaster. These were taken over by RTL Group at the beginning of 2015, so that the station is now in the hands of the station group. The renaming into RTL Passion took place on 12 November 2015.
