RTL Zwei is German commercial television network owned by Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland. The channel broadcasts news, entertainment, reality-shows, series, movies and documentaries programmings.

History[]

RTL Zwei was launched on 6th March 1993 as RTL 2. Launch of the broadcast for entertainment, movies, series, news and cartoons.

On 6th April 1996, RTL 2 was rebranded and the new logo was changed.

On 17th January 1999, RTL 2 is renamed as RTL II and the new numeral is now "Roman".

On 2002, RTL II was rebranded and the new logo was changed and the logo featuring a square was removed.

On 28th June 2009, RTL II was rebranded and the new logo was changed and switched to 16:9 image format.

On 1st December 2010, RTL II stopped its 4:3 image format then became a full 16:9 image format and was launched in high-definition.

On 10th August 2011, RTL II was rebranded and the new logo was changed but it's glossy.

On 1st February 2015, RTL II was rebranded and the new logo was changed but the old logo is back.

On 7th October 2019, RTL II is renamed as RTL Zwei and the new idents created by mehappy.
