Romance is French former movie television network owned by AB Groupe. The channel broadcasts movies related to romantic and drama.
History[]
In 1996, AB Groupe created 5 channels for AB Sat satellite package. They were called Action, Ciné Palace, Polar, Rire and Romance which was turned to romantic and emotional movies.
In 2002, a project to overhaul film channels was realized, with a bouquet initially named Cinétem and composed of 6 channels: Cinéart, Cinébox, Cinécomic, Ciné FX, Cinépassion and Cinépolar.
However, two of these channels will not see the light of day when Cinébox bouquet was created in September 2002, Cinéart and Cinépassion, the latter being supposed to take back Romance but is then considered too similar to CinéCinéma Émotion.
