Sixx Austria is Austrian entertainment television network owned by ProSiebenSat.1 Media. The channel broadcasts series, lifestyle, reality shows and movies programmings.

On 12th December 2007, Austria 9 was laiunched as an Austria-wide, private full-program broadcaster.
On November 2009, Austria 9 was completely replaced by the two partners. Conrad Heberling and Andmann Media Holding.
Was sent a family friendly and Austrian entertainment program. Shown were Austrian feature films, German television films, Hollywood highlights and Hollywood classics. The program was supplemented with series and sitcoms, such as Will & Grace, The X-Files or Der Bergdoktor, and various teleshopping programs. In addition, there were magazines from all federal states, such as Ländle TV, Das Steiermark-Magazin and Kärnten-Magazin "Schau Rein".
Meanwhile, the market share of Austria 9 was 1% within the target group of 12 to 49 year olds.
The number 9 in the station name was according to own data for the nine Austrian federal states.
Austria 9 largely itself through television advertising and teleshopping broadcasts. According to the approval letter from the RTR, it was a full program. Classic messages were not sent.
At the beginning of 2012, SevenOne Media Austria GmbH, a subsidiary of ProSiebenSat.1 Media and responsible for business in Austria, announced that it intends to acquire the private channel Austria 9. The purchase was completed in April 2012 and Austria 9 was integrated into the ProSiebenSat.1 Austria Group. The aim of this acquisition is to build and market an offshoot of the German broadcaster Sixx. Sixx Austria will be available to 82% of households in Austria from the start of broadcasting as existing capacity is used.
The relaunch of the station started on 3 July from the current Rosenhügel Filmstudio. As the SevenOne Media Austria GmbH announced shortly after the acquisition, all Austrian broadcasters move to the Media Quarter Marx at the end of 2012.
On July 3, 2012, Sixx Austria started its transmission with the comedy 27 Dresses, punctually at 8:15 pm, on the current broadcasting station of Austria 9. Sixx Austria can be received unencrypted via satellite and in the Austrian cable network throughout Europe.
