TV5 (simply known as 5) is a Philippine television network owned by TV5 Network, Inc. The channel broadcasts news, entertainment, series, movies and sports programmings.
History[]
TV5 was launched on 19th June 1960 as Associated Broadcasting Corporation.
On 23rd September 1972, Associated Broadcasting Corporation was closed due to the declaration of martial law by former president and dictator Ferdinand Marcos.
On 21st February 1992, Associated Broadcasting Corporation was relaunched as Associated Broadcasting Company.
On 30th January 1995, Associated Broadcasting Company was rebranded and the new logo was changed.
On 31st March 1996, Associated Broadcasting Company was rebranded and the new logo was changed.
On 1st January 2000, Associated Broadcasting Company was rebranded and the new logo was changed.
On 5th March 2001, Associated Broadcasting Company was rebranded and the new logo was changed.
On 2nd February 2004, Associated Broadcasting Company was rebranded and the new logo was changed.
On 12th April 2004, Associated Broadcasting Company was rebranded and the new logo was changed.
On 27th September 2004, Associated Broadcasting Company was rebranded and the new logo was changed.
On 9th August 2008, Associated Broadcasting Company is renamed as TV5.
On 20th October 2009, TV5 was acquired by MediaQuest Holdings.
On 4th April 2010, TV5 was rebranded and the new logo was changed.
On 14th September 2013, TV5 was rebranded and the new logo was changed.
On 17th February 2018, TV5 is renamed as The 5 Network.
On 13th January 2019, The 5 Network was rebranded and the new logo was changed along with 5Plus.
On 15th August 2020, The 5 Network is renamed back as TV5.
On 20th May 2021, TV5 was rebranded and the new logo and idents was changed.
