TV Asahi is Japanese television network owned by TV Asahi Holdings Corporation. The channel broadcasts news, entertainment, movies, series, talk-shows, anime and sports programmings.
History[]
TV Asahi was launched on 1st November 1957 as Nippon Educational Television. Launch of the broadcast for news, entertainment, documentaries.
On 10th December 1960, Nippon Educational Television is renamed as NET 10.
On 11th October 1966, NET 10 was rebranded and the new logo was changed.
On 27th March 1967, NET 10 was broadcasts in full color programmings.
On 1st January 1970, NET 10 was broadcasts the new information programming called "ANN News".
On 1st April 1977, NET 10 was privatized by the Japanese government and is renamed as TV Asahi.
On 1st July 1980, TV Asahi was broadcasts the Summer Olympics from Moscow but it's boycotted.
On 7th October 1985, TV Asahi was broadcasts the new large information programming called "News Station".
On 20th June 1996, TV Asahi was rebranded and the new logo and idents were changed.
On 1st December 2000, TV Asahi's satellite channel BS Asahi was launched.
On 1st October 2003, TV Asahi was rebranded and the new logo and idents were changed.
On 1st April 2006, TV Asahi was starting the digital television.
On 12th May 2008, TV Asahi was rebranded and the new idents were changed.
On 5th July 2010, TV Asahi switched to full 16:9 image format.
On 24th July 2012, TV Asahi was ending the analogue television.
On 11th April 2016, TV Asahi's streaming service Abema TV was launched.
