Trek is French documentary television network owned by Mediawan Thematics. The channel broadcasts documentary and sports related to extreme, outdoor, ski/snowboard, expeditions, challenges, surfing and climbing.

History[]

The channel was launched in 1996 with the launch of AB Sat satellite package as a documentary channel based on travel, in competition with CanalSatellite channel, Voyage. To begin with, it called Evasion.

Since October 2007, the channel has changed ownership, joining with its defunct German cousin Terra Nova which ceased broadcast in July 2007, and which also showed documentary programmes. Escales took over the broadcast of many its programmes and is still in competition with Voyage.

The channel was renamed Trek on February 2, 2015.

Trek began broadcasting on February 2, 2015, replacing Escales.

Programmings[]

The channel broadcasts programs dedicated to adventure, feats and thrills.

Every night of the week, Trek offers different sports: extreme Monday, outdoor Tuesday, ski / snowboard on Wednesday, expeditions on Thursday, challenges on Friday, surf on Saturday and climbing on Sunday.
