Trvl Channel is Anierican knowledge television network owned by Discovery Networks Anierica. The channel broadcasts documentaries, reality, and how-to shows related to travel, such as guides to holiday planning, and traditional documentary programming about destinations, cuisine, culture, nature and shopping, along with other types of travel such as backpacking, culinary tourism, ecotourism and luxury tourism.

History[]

Trvl Channel was launched on February 2, 1987, under the name Travel Channel.

On July 15, 1996, Travel Channel was renamed as Travel.

On November 12, 2001, Travel was reverted as Travel Channel.

On August 14, 2006, Travel Channel was acquired by Discovery Networks Anierica and rebranded.

On March 31, 2008, Travel Channel was launched in HD simulcast and switched to the widescreen format.

On November 3, 2008, Travel Channel was launched in 1-hour timeshift simulcast.

On March 21, 2011, Travel Channel was rebranded and stopped the 4:3 picture format and then became full 16:9 picture format,

On October 29, 2018, Travel Channel was renamed as Trvl Channel.
