W9 is French television network owned by Groupe M6. The channel broadcasts entertainment, series, reality-shows, music videos and sports programmings.
History[]
W9 was launched on 5th March 1998 as M6 Music. Launch of the broadcast for music videos.
On 2001, M6 Music will be transmitted to TNT channel.
On 31st March 2005, M6 Music was splitted to new channels: W9 (entertainment channel) and M6 Music Hits (music channel).
On yesterday, M6 Music is renamed as W9 and the new broadcast format for entertainment, series and reality-shows.
On 1st April 2009, W9 switched to 16:9 image format.
On 9th March 2010, W9 was rebranded and the new logo was changed.
On 18th May 2011, W9 stopped its 4:3 image format then became a full 16:9 image format and was launched in high-definition version.
On 19th November 2018, W9 was rebranded and the new logo was changed.
